My specialty is manipulating and enhancing photographic images for print and web.
I have over 20 years experience compositing complex images from multiple sources.
I can also bring out the best in images of products, corporate executives, and lifestyle.
I work directly with ad agencies, design firms, book and magazine publishers, as well
as commercial photographers. I create original photography and have experience in
the studio, on location, and in image processing. Many years in print production and
prepress have given me the technical experience for the demands of color correction,
and brand identity. I’m a seasoned craftsman, and I love my work.

I opened the Electronic Images studio in downtown San Francisco in the early 1990’s.
The studio was a test site for Adobe Photoshop. I specialized in creative retouching,
and photo compositing beyond the typical pre-press capabilities of the day.
Advertising and branding agencies, magazine and book publishers were enthusiastic
about the boutique alternative. The creative possibilities were virtually limitless.
Each new project was chellenging and exhilarating.

The first dotcom fireworks fizzled and I joined a large pre-press shop
(Seven Worldwide -now Schawk) for a few years. The work was similar, but on a larger
scale. Then it was on to FatCat Digital where the focus was on elegant, creative solutions
with a strong photographic aesthetic.

Since 2005 I have been based in my Marin studio. The toolset is far more powerful now,
but the workflow remains basically unchanged. Many years of solving diverse challenges
have honed an expanded and versatile skillset. Projects requiring nuanced craftsmanship
and finesse are the bailiwick of seasoned artisans.
